Agents

An agent can build the same script the portal builds. Connect it to the MCP endpoint. There is no account.

Endpoint

The endpoint is https://api.licketyscript.app/mcp. It speaks streamable HTTP. The agent does not call the portal routes.

Tools

Four tools do the work. They use the same checks as the portal.

  • list_catalog reads the types and checks.
  • check_script checks the document and names the field that failed.
  • preview_script returns the entry script and the framework. It does not write a zip.
  • create_script returns every file in the zip as text.

The prompt new_script asks the agent to check, then preview, then create.

Document

The document has a name, a shell, the options, and any positional arguments.body is the shell that runs after the checks pass. Leave it out and the entry script is a stub that lists the variables.

A positional is a value that is not a flag. It is a string or an integer. It cannot be a switch. One positional sets NAME_ARG. Only the last positional can repeat. A repeating positional sets NAME_ARGS and NAME_ARG_COUNT. Leave positionals out and a leftover token still exits 3. The form page has the same rules.

Steps

  1. Read the catalog.
  2. Write the document.
  3. Call check_script and fix the field it names.
  4. Call preview_script.
  5. Call create_script and write each file under the script directory.
  6. Run chmod +x on the entry script, installer.sh, and uninstaller.sh.
